Collision Reporting Centre
Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act requires motorists to report vehicle collisions to police when:
- injuries are involved, or;
- the total damage caused by the collision exceeds $5,000, or;
- the collision causes damage to highway property (e.g. signs, poles, fences)
If you were involved in a minor collision in Windsor, you can report the incident at the Windsor Police Collision Reporting Centre (CRC).
CRC Eligibility
Collisions are ineligible for CRC reporting if they involve any of the following:
- Personal injury or death
- Criminal activity (incl. impaired driving, vehicle theft, and hit-and-runs)
- Vehicles transporting dangerous goods
- Suspended, unlicensed, or uninsured drivers
- Damage to private, municipal, or highway property
- Uncooperative drivers
If any of these circumstances apply, call police to attend the scene of the collision. Dial 9-1-1 for emergencies and 519-258-6111 for non-emergencies.
If you are uncertain whether an officer should attend the scene, call the non-emergency line (519-258-6111).
