Have you been in a collision? Here's what you should do.
The Ontario Highway Traffic Act requires that all vehicle collisions that involve injuries or property damage valued at more than $2,000 must be reported to police as soon as possible.

If you’ve been involved in a minor vehicle collision in Windsor, you can report the incident at the Windsor Police Service’s Collision Reporting Centre (CRC). The CRC is your one-stop service to safely and conveniently file accident reports and insurance claims as well as document damage with photographs.

Hours of operation

Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Weekends & holidays: Closed

A collision can be reported to the Collision Reporting Centre providing it DOESN'T involve:
  • Personal injury or death
  • Any criminal activity (i.e., impaired driving, stolen vehicles, assaults)
  • A vehicle transporting dangerous goods
  • A person whose driver’s licence is suspended or is not insured
  • Damage to private, municipal or highway property (unless advised by officer)
  • An uncooperative driver

If any of the above circumstances exist, an officer should attend the scene. Call 9-1-1 for an emergency or 519-258-6111 for a non-emergency situation.

What to bring to the CRC
  • The vehicle involved in the collision
  • Driver's licence
  • Vehicle ownership
  • Proof of insurance
  • Information exchanged with other driver(s)
  • Passenger information (if applicable)
  • Witness information (if applicable)

Towing and vehicle storage
You are free to choose any towing company to remove your vehicle from the scene of a collision. You are responsible for fees associated with the towing, storage and environmental clean-up and may be required to make immediate payment to the towing company to have your vehicle released.
