Non Criminal Fingerprints

If a name-based criminal record / vulnerable sector check is inconclusive, Windsor Police must submit fingerprints to the RCMP to complete the check.
Windsor Police Service is not authorized to take fingerprints for other purposes (including immigration, adoption, and VISA applications).
Scheduling a Fingerprint Appointment
Applicants can call 519-255-6700 x4129 to book a fingerprint appointment.
Appointments are available from 8:15 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Each appointment takes roughly 15 minutes.
Applicants must bring two approved forms of ID to their fingerprint appointment.
Applicable Fees
The total fee for fingerprinting services is $70. (This includes a $45 fee payable to Windsor Police and a $25 federal fee, which is collected by Windsor Police and remitted to RCMP on the applicant’s behalf.)
Payment can be made via cash, debit, or Visa / Mastercard.

Do other local organizations provide fingerprint services?
Yes. Please consult the RCMP’s directory of accredited fingerprinting companies.
If you submit your fingerprints through a private agency, Windsor Police will return your criminal record check marked incomplete. The RCMP will mail you a certificate verifying the existence or non-existence of a criminal record check after receiving prints from the private agency. To be considered complete, you must attach the RCMP certificate to the Windsor Police Service record check.
If your record check is required for the purpose of a cab/livery driver licence, The City of Windsor Licence Bureau will require the incomplete record check as proof that your Record Check has been delayed.
