Police seek suspect after hit-and-run and vehicle arson

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run and a subsequent vehicle arson.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on December 27, 2025, officers responded to a report of a cyclist struck by a vehicle in the 500 block of Wellington Avenue. An investigation revealed the cyclist was travelling northbound when he was hit from behind by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle then collided with a parked car in a residential driveway, forcing it into a utility pole,

The suspect vehicle, described as a dark grey or black hatchback sedan, then fled northbound on Wellington Avenue at a high rate of speed. The bicyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The following evening, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers were called to a vehicle fire in the 2200 block of Charl Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed a grey 2017 Chevrolet Cruz which had sustained significant fire damage. A jerry can was found near the vehicle.

Investigators believe this Chevrolet Cruz may be the same vehicle involved in the previous day’s hit-and-run. Residents and business owners in both areas are urged to review their surveillance or dashcam footage for evidence that may assist with the investigation.
