Police arrest suspect following unprovoked stabbing 

The Windsor Police Service has arrested and charged a 48-year-old man following a seemingly unprovoked stabbing at a restaurant.

Shortly before 10 p.m. on September 17, 2026, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a restaurant in the 100 block of Wyandotte Street East. Officers learned that the suspect approached the victim while shouting racial slurs. The suspect then swung a knife at the victim, striking him in the head before fleeing the scene. 

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. 

Approximately 20 minutes after the incident, officers located and arrested the suspect at the corner of Ouellette Avenue and Elliott Street West. 

Barry Glen Greene, 48, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
