Motorist charged with impaired driving after collision
The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 53-year-old woman after a single-vehicle collision on E.C. Row Expressway.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on September 1, 2026, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision near the intersection of Central Avenue and E.C. Row Expressway.
Upon arrival, officers located a heavily damaged Dodge Charger in a ditch on the south side of the expressway’s westbound lanes. Officers learned the vehicle had broken through a guardrail and travelled down the embankment near the Central Avenue on-ramp.
While speaking with the driver, officers detected an odour of alcohol. The driver was administered a roadside breath test, which she failed. She was subsequently transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where she failed additional breath tests. The driver sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the collision.
Tanya N. Armstrong, 53, is charged with operation of a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
