Police seek suspect in $100,000 identity theft investigation
The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect wanted in connection with a $100,000 identity theft investigation.
In July 2026, members of the Windsor Police Financial Crimes Unit received a report of fraud and identity theft. Through investigation, officers learned that the suspect opened a fraudulent bank account in the victim’s name in June 2026, and subsequently incurred a debt of approximately $101,315.
The suspect is described as an East Indian male with tattoos on the right side of his neck and the back of his left hand. In surveillance images, he is frequently seen with the lower portion of his face covered by a scarf or mask.
The suspect is wanted for:
• Fraud over $5,000
• Identity fraud
• Identity theft
• Possession of a credit card obtained by an offence
• Unauthorized use of credit card data
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
