Police seek driver following pedestrian hit-and-run
The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a driver who struck a 17-year-old girl on Howard Avenue and fled the scene.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on August 9, 2026, officers responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the 2600 block of Howard Avenue.
Through investigation, officers learned that four teenagers were crossing the road when a vehicle travelling southbound on Howard Avenue at a high rate of speed struck a 17-year-old girl. The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a newer-model grey Ford Escape.
Investigators are asking residents and drivers in the area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage for possible evidence, specifically between 9 and 10 p.m. on August 9.
