Suspect sought in church vandalism

Following tips from the public and further investigation, officers identified the suspect as 47-year-old Maurice Moeller. 

On August 22, 2026, shortly before 3:30 p.m., members of the Problem-Oriented Policing Unit located and arrested Moeller in the 2300 block of Pelissier Street. He has been charged with two counts of mischief under $5000.

Suspect sought in church vandalism

The Windsor Police Service is seeking to identify a suspect following an act of vandalism at a church.

On August 7, 2026, a man was captured on surveillance video throwing rocks through two windows of a church in the 100 block of Giles Boulevard East. The man then left the area on foot. 

The suspect is described as a man with a medium complexion and a black-and-grey goatee. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue Toronto Blue Jays hat, blue jeans, and black-and-purple shoes. He was shirtless and had a black shirt hanging from the waistband of his pants.

The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine whether the incident was hate-motivated.
