15-year-old charged after threatening people with knife 

The Windsor Police Service has charged a 15-year-old youth after two people were threatened with a kitchen knife. 

Shortly after 10 a.m. on August 13, 2026, officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in South Windsor. Once on scene, officers learned that a verbal argument began after the youth accused the victims, who live in the same building and share laundry facilities, of turning off the washing machine. 

The suspect allegedly retrieved a large kitchen knife, pointed it at the victims and threatened to stab and kill them. One of the victims called 9-1-1, distracting the suspect and allowing another victim to disarm him. The suspect then fled the area on foot. 

Officers quickly located and arrested the suspect nearby. 

The 15-year-old suspect, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with: 

• Assault with a weapon

• Uttering threats to cause death

• Failure to comply with a release order

• Breach of a court order
