Man arrested after breaching bail, fleeing from police

A 22-year-old man wanted for breaching his court-ordered conditions was arrested after he tried to flee when officers located him in east Windsor.

In April 2026, Ali Hassan Alsahi was granted bail on numerous criminal charges, including firearm offences, uttering threats, and four counts of possessing a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. Two weeks earlier, he had been placed on probation in connection with a separate criminal harassment charge.

Alsahi’s release conditions required him to wear an electronic monitoring device.

Windsor Police bail compliance officers later determined that Alsahi had breached his probation conditions by fleeing from a traffic stop and driving dangerously.

On August 7, bail compliance officers, with assistance from the Windsor Police Emergency Services Unit and the OPP-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad, located Alsahi in a parking lot in the 3300 block of Howard Avenue.

When officers approached his vehicle, Alsahi attempted to flee by driving onto the sidewalk. Officers quickly blocked the vehicle with their cruisers to protect people in the area and prevent him from escaping. Officers removed him from the vehicle and arrested him following a brief struggle.

A search of the vehicle allegedly found approximately eight grams of suspected fentanyl, 24 Dilaudid tablets and $531 in Canadian and U.S. currency.

Alsahi has been charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance (x 2)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (x 2)
  • Failure to comply with a release order
  • Breach of probation 

The bail compliance officers are part of the Offender Management Unit, which supervises high-risk individuals subject to house arrest, curfews, and electronic monitoring.
