Man arrested following road rage investigation

A 22-year-old man has been arrested following a road rage incident in Amherstburg.

Shortly before 8 a.m. on July 16, 2026, police responded to a report of a road rage incident in the area of Sandwich Street South and Lowes Side Road.

Through investigation, officers learned that the incident began after an exchange of hand gestures between two motorists. Following this disagreement, the suspect conducted an abrupt U-turn, approached the victim’s vehicle, and damaged the driver’s side mirror.

When the victim exited his vehicle, the suspect punched him several times before fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly before 10 a.m., the suspect turned himself in at the Amherstburg detachment of the Windsor Police Service.

Aidyn Timothy Kelly, 22, has been charged with:

•    Assault

•    Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

•    Mischief to property
