More than 50 charges laid after shots fired at west-end residence
The Windsor Police Service has arrested three men and laid more than 50 charges after multiple shots were fired at a residence in west Windsor.
Shortly before 4 a.m. on July 12, 2026, officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 300 block of Partington Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located spent shell casings on the roadway.
A preliminary investigation determined that occupants of a white sedan approached the residence and fired multiple shots. Four people were inside the home at the time of the incident; no injuries were reported.
Through investigation, officers located the vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop in the 2200 block of York Street shortly before 4:30 a.m. The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of three men. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of two handguns. One handgun was loaded with an extended magazine, while the second handgun was unloaded.
The driver of the vehicle was also arrested for impaired driving.
Zion Tshiamala-Atkinson, 20, Mahdi Guled, 22, and Zakariya Sheiknur, 20, have each been charged with:
• Discharging a firearm
• Occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm (x 2)
• Possession of a firearm with a removed serial number
• Possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number
• Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
• Possession of a loaded regulated firearm, namely a handgun
• Possession of an unloaded regulated firearm, namely a handgun
• Possession of a firearm without holding a licence (x 2)
• Careless handling/storage of a firearm (x 2)
Tshiamala-Atkinson has also been charged with:
• Possession of a firearm while prohibited (x 2)
• Possession of a prohibited device while prohibited, namely a magazine (x 2)
• Breach of probation by failing to comply with a condition not to possess any weapons (x 2)
• Possession of a prohibited device without authority (x 2)
• Disobey lawful court order not to possess any weapons (x 6)
Guled has also been charged with:
• Unlicensed person in possession of a prohibited weapon (x 2)
Sheiknur has also been charged with:
• Unlicensed person in possession of a prohibited weapon (x 2)
• Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
• Operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 mg
