Police arrest suspect following child sexual assault investigation

The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 43-year-old man following the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on July 5, 2026, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Through investigation, police learned that during the early morning hours of July 1, 2026, the suspect led the girl behind a business in the 400 block of Pitt Street West. Once there, he removed both his own clothing and the victim's clothing before sexually assaulting her.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on July 7, 2026, officers located and arrested the suspect in the area of Park Street East and Ouellette Avenue.

Robert James Scott, 43, has been charged with sexual assault.
