Two men arrested, 19 charges laid in residential break-in

The Windsor Police Service has arrested two men and laid 19 charges following a residential break-and-enter in the city’s east side.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on June 23, 2026, officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter and vehicle theft at a residence in the 5600 block of Riverside Drive East.

The investigation determined that two suspects entered the home's open garage door and stole several power tools, credit cards, debit cards, and the vehicle inside. The stolen credit card was later used at several businesses.

Members of the Windsor Police Auto Theft Unit launched an investigation and quickly identified one of the suspects as 42-year-old Christopher Nelson. 

On June 24, officers located the stolen vehicle (affixed with stolen licence plates) in the 100 block of Oak Street. As they prepared to recover the vehicle, a man approached it and was arrested without incident. During the arrest, officers also seized the keys to the stolen vehicle. 

Andrew Parker, 56, is charged with:

  • Break and enter and commit
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

On June 28, 2026, members of the Problem Oriented Policing Unit located Nelson in the 1000 block of Hickory Rd.

Christopher Nelson, 42, is charged with: 

  • Break and enter and commit 
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Fraud under $5,000 (x 3)Using a credit card obtained by crime (x 2)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x 2)
  • Breach of probation (x 6)
