Police arrest two suspects in air conditioner theft 


The Windsor Police Service has arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of an air conditioning unit from a home in south Windsor.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m. on June 11, 2026, officers responded to a report of a theft at a residence in the 9800 block of Cabana Road East. Through investigation, officers learned that two suspects arrived at the property shortly before 6 a.m., cut the wiring to the home’s air conditioning unit, and fled the scene with the stolen air conditioner (valued at approximately $10,000).

The stolen property has since been recovered.

On June 17, shortly before 7:30 p.m., members of the Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit located and arrested one suspect in the 2600 block of Richmond Street.

Christopher Drew Dauphin, 35, has been charged with:

• Damage to property under $5,000

• Theft over $5,000

Shortly after 7 p.m. on June 29, members of the OPP-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad arrested the second suspect at his residence in Lakeshore, Ontario.

James Wesley Laramie, 44, has been charged with:

 • Operation while prohibited (x 2)

 • Damage to property under $5,000

 • Theft over $5,000

 • Breach of probation
