Cyclist critically injured in collision
The Windsor Police Service is investigating a motor vehicle collision that left a cyclist with life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after noon on June 19, 2026, officers responded to a report of a collision involving a cyclist at the intersection of Northwood Street and McKay Avenue.
A preliminary investigation determined that an 89-year-old man was riding an electric bicycle through the intersection when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The driver remained at the scene.
The cyclist was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Members of the Windsor Police Service Traffic Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and conducted an investigation. The intersection of Northwood Street and McKay Avenue was closed for approximately six hours while officers collected evidence.
The investigation remains ongoing.
