Suspect arrested in sexual assault investigation

The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a victim targeted through a social media platform.

On June 1, 2026, members of the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit (CASA) launched an investigation after receiving a report that an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted twice by a man she met online.

Investigators learned that the victim had briefly communicated with the suspect beginning May 28, when he followed her on a social media platform.

The next day, the suspect approached the victim at a business in the 2700 block of Tecumseh Road East. The suspect allegedly threatened the victim and forced her into his vehicle, where she was sexually assaulted.

The following day, the suspect allegedly used the victim's location on social media to track her to a business in the 2400 block of Dougall Avenue, where he followed her into a women’s washroom and sexually assaulted her a second time. The assault was interrupted when another person entered the washroom, causing the suspect to flee.

Through investigation, officers identified the suspect as Ahmad Khaled Al Ali, 24.

On June 2, 2026, members of the Ontario Provincial Police-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad located and arrested Al Ali at a residence in LaSalle.

He has been charged with:

•    Assault by choking

•    Forcible confinement
