Two arrested after early morning break-and-enter
A quick response by the Windsor Police Service has led to the arrest of two suspects following an early morning break-and-enter in the city’s west end.
Shortly after 9 a.m. on June 1, 2026, officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter at a warehouse in the 600 block of University Ave. W.
Through investigation, officers determined that two suspects broke into the property shortly before 6 a.m. and stole roughly $50,000 in miscellaneous goods, including a number of power tools. A nearby resident also reported their Herby Curby garbage bin was stolen overnight.
Approximately 30 minutes later, officers located the two suspects in the 500 block of Bruce Avenue. The suspects were found in possession of the Herby Curby and property stolen during the break-and-enter.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Officers also located break-and-enter tools during a search of one suspect, which constituted a breach of her previous release order.
Shaylagh Morand, 39, and Devon Claire Curran, 36, have each been charged with:
• Break-and-enter
• Theft under $5,000
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Morand was also charged with failure to comply with a release order and arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for an unrelated occurrence.
A number of the stolen goods remain outstanding. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Target Base Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4350. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at catchcrooks.com.
