B&E offender arrested for breaching release conditions
The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 44-year-old man after he allegedly breached his court-ordered release conditions just hours after being released under strict supervision.
On April 22, 2026, Joseph David Casey was charged with break-and-enter, possession of property obtained by crime, and two counts each of using a stolen credit card and fraud. He was released from custody on May 20 with conditions requiring him to remain at a residence in the 500 block of Glengarry Avenue. He was also placed under electronic GPS monitoring.
During a routine compliance check, Windsor Police bail compliance officers learned Casey had failed to attend his approved residence following his release.
On May 26, 2026, officers located and arrested Casey in the area of Pitt Street and McDougall Avenue. He has been charged with eight counts of failing to comply with a release order.
The Bail Compliance Unit is part of the Offender Management Unit, a partnership between the Windsor Police Service and LaSalle Police Service that supervises high-risk individuals placed under house arrest, curfew conditions, or electronic monitoring.
Anyone with information regarding individuals who may not be complying with release conditions is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
