Two suspects arrested after break-in and vehicle theft
The Windsor Police Service has arrested two suspects in connection with a commercial break-in and vehicle theft.
On April 26, 2026, at approximately 5:45 a.m., two suspects stole a vehicle from a property in the 3200 block of Grand Marais Road East. The men then drove the vehicle to a business in the 2700 block of Meighen Road, where they broke into a locked trailer and stole numerous power tools.
Officers quickly recovered the stolen vehicle the following day in the 5500 block of Reginald Street. A rotary saw, power drill, grinder, and reciprocating saw were found inside the trunk.
Members of the Windsor Police Auto Theft Unit investigated and soon identified the two suspects. On May 1, both individuals were located and arrested in the 5500 block of Reginald Street.
Thomas Lee Lesperance, 48, and Christopher Stephen Menzies, 53, have each been charged with the following:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Break-and-enter a place other than dwelling
- Possession of break-in instruments
- Possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000 (x 2)
