Man charged with extortion arrested for breach

A man charged with extortion, criminal harassment, and distributing child pornography has been arrested for breaching his court-imposed release conditions.

Jason Nassr, 45, was released from custody in December 2025 with strict conditions from the Ontario Court of Appeal, including not using the internet to discuss or promote child exploitation or to take part in activity related to his YouTube channel.

The following month, the Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit investigated and determined that he had violated those two conditions.

On April 21, at approximately 8 a.m., members of the Windsor Police City Centre Patrol (CCP) located and arrested Nassr in the 500 block of McDougall Avenue.

He has been charged with two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830. They can also contact Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com
