UPDATE: Police release image of vehicle sought in fatal pedestrian crash

The Windsor Police Service has released an image of a vehicle believed to be involved in this week’s fatal pedestrian collision in an effort to identify the driver.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit have identified the vehicle involved as a dark-coloured SUV with a rear window spoiler or wing. The vehicle travelling eastbound on Tecumseh Road East at the time of the collision.

Police are urging the driver to come forward and speak with investigators.

The fatal collision occurred on April 15, 2026, at approximately 10 p.m., in the 1600 block of Tecumseh Road East. A 65-year-old woman was crossing the street mid-block when she was struck by the eastbound vehicle. The force of the initial impact caused her to be thrown into the opposing lane, where she was struck by a second vehicle.

The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene. However, the second driver failed to remain and has not been identified. 

Investigators continue to seek information that may help identify the second driver.
