Suspicious fire at riverfront home

The Windsor Police Service has launched an arson investigation following a suspicious fire at a riverfront home in the city’s east end.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., officers responded to an active fire at a house in the 11000 block of Riverside Drive East. The section of the road between Clover Street and Greenpark Boulevard was closed for several hours to ensure public safety and allow Windsor Fire & Rescue Services to extinguish the blaze. 

While no one was injured in the incident, the structure sustained an estimated $1 million in damages.
