Two arrested, one wanted after west-end assault
The Windsor Police Service has arrested two suspects and is seeking a third in connection with an assault at a west-end business.
Shortly before 6 p.m. on March 31, 2026, officers responded to a report of an assault at a convenience store in the 600 block of Chippawa Street. Through investigation, officers learned that three male suspects entered the store and were asked to leave by an employee due to their behaviour. Two of the suspects then restrained the victim and assaulted him, while a third suspect pointed a white handgun at the victim.
Officers quickly identified the suspects as Damian Van Nieuw Amerongen, 20, Tayven Holland-Richardson, 18, and a 15-year-old male.
Van Nieuw Amerongen and Holland-Richardson were located and arrested a short distance from the scene. Both have been charged with assault with a weapon and assault.
The third suspect, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, remains outstanding.
