Warrant issued, second suspect sought after assault

The Windsor Police Service has issued an arrest warrant for one suspect and is seeking a second in connection with an assault at a business.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on March 14, 2026, officers responded to a report of an assault at a store in the 500 block of Ouellette Avenue. Through investigation, officers learned that a female suspect initially attended the business, made a purchase, and left. A short time later, she returned with a male suspect, claiming she had received the wrong product. A verbal altercation ensued between the suspects and an employee.

During the incident, the male suspect began throwing and damaging items in the store. Both suspects then assaulted the employee, with the male using an item from the store to strike the victim multiple times.

The employee sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit has identified the male suspect as Jerome Findleter, 37. An arrest warrant has been issued for Findleter on the following charges:

•    Assault with a weapon 

•    Assault 

•    Mischief under $5,000 

Findleter is described as a black male, 5’8” tall, with a dark complexion, slender build and dreadlock-style hair.

The female suspect remains unidentified. She is described as a black female, approximately 30 to 45 years old, 5’4” tall, with a medium build, and black hair. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a grey sweater, beige toque, blue jeans, and black-and-white running shoes.
