Suspect arrested following armed robbery
The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery.
On March 30, 2026, members of the Major Crimes Unit launched an investigation after receiving information about a robbery that occurred the previous day. Investigators determined that the suspect was inside a residence in the 30 block of Tuscarora Street when he was asked to leave. The suspect then brandished a knife and demanded the occupant’s wallet.
The suspect then forced the victim to go to a nearby automated banking machine (ATM) to withdraw additional cash and threatened retaliation if police were contacted.
Through investigation, including the review of surveillance video, officers identified the suspect as Jadyn Prince Hayes.
Later that day, officers located and arrested Hayes in the area of Erie Street East and Goyeau Street.
Hayes has been charged with:
• Robbery
• Extortion
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
