Man arrested after brandishing machete


The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 31-year-old man after an altercation in which he brandished a machete.  

Shortly before 7 p.m. on March 19, 2026, police responded to an altercation in the 500 block of Ouellette Ave.

Through investigation, officers determined that a verbal dispute between three individuals outside of a bar escalated when one of the parties produced a machete and began swinging at the others.  

Officers quickly located the suspect a short distance from the scene and took him into custody without incident. During the arrest, officers seized multiple weapons, including the machete involved in the altercation

Alhamoudou Nimaga, 31, has been charged with possessing a weapon dangerous to public peace.
