Quick police response stops attempted stabbing

A swift response by Windsor Police Service officers interrupted an attempted stabbing in the city’s east end.

On March 14, 2026, at approximately 3 p.m., officers were responding to an unrelated call for service in the 1000 block of Drouillard Road when they heard screams coming from further down the street. Several bystanders began gesturing and yelling toward police, alerting officers to the disturbance.

Officers made their way to a nearby business, where they observed two men involved in an altercation. One male appeared to be running from the other, ducking and crouching behind a parked vehicle in an apparent attempt to avoid him.

As officers approached, the aggressor fled the scene toward the area behind the business. Officers later learned the suspect had chased the victim with a knife and attempted to stab him.

Officers quickly located the suspect at a nearby residence. After issuing verbal commands, the man exited the unit and was taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect faces charges of assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order.
