Case #: 26-22806
Man facing firearm charges arrested for breaching bail and drug possession
A 22-year-old man before the courts on firearm charges has been arrested again for violating his bail conditions – marking his second breach in less than three months.
Tyrell Patterson was previously arrested in December 2025, by Windsor Police Officers for breaching his bail conditions in connection with those firearm charges. He was granted bail again last month and was subject to court-ordered conditions, including house arrest.
During routine monitoring, Windsor Police bail compliance officers determined that Patterson had violated those conditions. Shortly after 1:30 p.m. on March 4, 2026, officers spotted Patterson driving a vehicle in the 5400 block of Reginald Street.
Shortly thereafter, bail compliance officers, with assistance from the Problem-Oriented Policing Unit, attempted to arrest Patterson after he exited a business in the 1500 block of Huron Church Road. He fled on foot but was apprehended following a brief foot chase and struggle.
During the arrest, officers located and seized approximately 6.7 grams of cocaine. The vehicle he was operating was towed, and its licence plates were seized.
Patterson has been charged with failure to comply with a release order and possession of a Schedule I substance. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving while suspended and using a licence plate not authorized for vehicle.
The arrest was led by bail officers from the Offender Management Unit, a joint initiative between the Windsor Police Service and the LaSalle Police Service. The unit supervises high-risk individuals under court-ordered conditions such as house arrest, curfews, and electronic monitoring. It is funded through a provincial grant aimed at strengthening Ontario’s bail system.
