Suspect charged after residential break-and-enter and fraud
The Windsor Police Service has charged a 48-year-old man in connection with a residential break-and-enter and multiple fraud-related offences.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on February 5, 2026, officers responded to a report of a break-in at a local residence. Officers learned that the suspect entered the residence through an unsecured bedroom window and stole several items, including an electric bicycle, two laptops, a karaoke speaker, and a cheque valued at $200.
The Windsor Police Target Base Unit conducted a follow-up investigation and identified the suspect. Investigators further determined that the suspect later cashed the stolen cheque and made several unauthorized purchases.
On February 7, at approximately 5 p.m., officers arrested the suspect during a traffic stop in the area of Riverside Drive East and Riverdale Avenue.
Beejay Couvillon, 48, has been charged with:
• Break and enter a dwelling house and commit an indictable offence
• Fraud under $5,000 (x3)
• Uttering a forged document
• Unauthorized use of credit card data (x2)
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
• Failure to comply with a release order
