Swift police response foils break-and-enter in progress
The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 45-year-old man after officers quickly responded to and interrupted a break-and-enter in progress at a west-end business.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on February 4, 2026, officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business in the 2100 block of Wyandotte Street West. Officers arrived on scene within minutes later and located a male suspect inside the premises. The suspect was observed cutting electrical wiring, causing an estimated $500 in damage before police intervened.
The suspect was arrested without incident.
James Douglas Hodgson, 45, has been charged with break-and-enter place other than a dwelling house.
