Man arrested after breaching bail conditions weeks after release
The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 50-year-old man for breaching his bail conditions while facing a sexual assault charge.
On January 7, 2026, David George Sirls, 50, was granted bail after being charged with sexual assault. As part of his release order, Sirls was required to remain at his residence at all times.
On February 2, 2026, bail compliance officers launched an investigation and determined that Sirls had breached his release conditions. Officers subsequently located the accused in the 3500 block of Dougall Avenue. At the time, Sirls was not in the presence of his surety.
Sirls has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release order.
The bail compliance officers are part of the Offender Management Unit, a partnership between the Windsor Police Service and the LaSalle Police Service that supervises high-risk individuals placed under house arrest, curfew, or electronic monitoring. The Offender Management Unit is supported through a grant from the Government of Ontario as part of the provincial strategy to strengthen Ontario’s bail system.
Anyone wishing to report an individual who is not complying with their release conditions is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
