Car salesman arrested for $40,000 in fraudulent vehicle sales

The Windsor Police Service has charged a 32-year-old man following a vehicle fraud investigation.

After a comprehensive investigation by the Windsor Police Financial Crimes Unit, Amir Al-Nasiri has been charged with defrauding 15 individuals out of a total of $40,000 between January and September of 2025.

Al-Nasiri is alleged to have sold multiple vehicles under false pretences. Investigators determined that some vehicles had odometers rolled back, others were sold with fraudulent safety inspections, some buyers never received the vehicles they purchased, and others unknowingly purchased scrap vehicles that had been misrepresented as roadworthy.

Following the investigation, a warrant was issued for Al-Nasiri’s arrest. On January 29, 2026, he turned himself in at Windsor Police headquarters.

He has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
