Police seek information, witnesses after man found unresponsive
The Windsor Police Service is seeking witnesses and information from the public after a man was found unresponsive in an east-end parking lot.
At approximately 11:20 a.m. on January 1, 2026, officers responded to a report of an unresponsive person in a parking lot behind a commercial building in the 5100 block of Tecumseh Road East. At the scene, they located a man who was unconscious and in medical distress. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The victim is described as a black male, in his early 20s, wearing a black button-up shirt, jeans, and white running shoes.
The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who may have seen the victim prior to the incident to come forward.
Residents and business owners in the immediate vicinity are also urged to review any security camera or dash camera footage that may assist investigators.
