Windsor Police officer charged with sexual assault


The Windsor Police Service has charged one of its members following a sexual assault investigation.

Constable Ali Karhani faces two counts of sexual assault in relation to off-duty incidents that involved alleged inappropriate physical contact. The charges follow a thorough investigation conducted by the Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit.

In accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act of Ontario, Constable Karhani, who has served with the Windsor Police Service for six years, has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the judicial process.

The Windsor Police Service recognizes the seriousness of these allegations and remains committed to transparency and accountability to the community we serve.

As the matter is now before the court, and to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
