Three injured after SUV strikes ambulance in Amherstburg 

The Windsor Police Service is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision involving an ambulance that left three people injured in Amherstburg.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on December 9, 2025, officers responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Alma Street and 5th Concession Road North. Officers arrived to find an SUV and ambulance in a roadside ditch, with the SUV overturned. Both vehicles were heavily damage.

A preliminary investigation indicates the SUV was travelling southbound on 5th Concession Road North at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the stop sign at Alma Street. The SUV subsequently collided with an ambulance travelling westbound.

Two paramedics and the driver of the SUV sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A third paramedic was also injured later while removing medical equipment from the damaged ambulance.

The 50-year-old driver of the SUV faces a charge of careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
