Woman’s silent plea leads to arrest in violent incident

A 62-year-old man has been arrested after a woman’s silent plea for help alerted a Windsor Police cadet to a violent incident involving assault with a weapon, threats, and forcible confinement.

On November 18, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a Windsor Police cadet attended a residence in the city’s west end to serve court documents. When a woman answered the door, she quietly mouthed the words “help me” toward the cadet while a man stood close behind her. Concerned for her safety, the cadet immediately ushered the woman to safety and requested patrol officers to attend to assist and investigate.

The victims sustained non-life-threatening physical injuries.

The suspect, Vincent Lee Harris, was arrested without incident.

He has been charged with:- Assault with a weapon (x2)- Assault (x2)- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm (x2)- Forcible Confinement (x2)- Failure to comply with a probation order (x2)
