Two arrested after police seize nearly $30,000 in drugs and cash
An investigation by the Windsor Police Service has led to the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of nearly $30,000 in drugs and cash.
Members of the Drugs and Guns Enforcement Unit (DIGS) launched an investigation into individuals suspected of trafficking drugs near schools in Windsor’s west end. With assistance from the Emergency Services Unit (ESU), officers executed a warrant this morning at a residence in the 3300 block of Sandwich Street.
During the search, officers seized:
• 23.3 grams of fentanyl
• $16,335 in Canadian currency
• Two digital scales• Four cell phones
• Packaging materials
Shamar Bown-Soares, 33, and Rowaun Johnson, 31, both with ties to the Greater Toronto Area, are charged with:
• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)• Possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000
