Youth suspect arrested, another sought following knifepoint robbery 

 

The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 16-year-old suspect and is seeking an additional suspect following a knifepoint robbery in Amherstburg.

 

On November 8, 2025, shortly after 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 300 block of Sandwich Street South. Through investigation, officers learned the suspects approached a 12-year-old victim, brandished a knife, and demanded money.

 

The suspects forcefully removed the victim’s backpack and money before fleeing the area. The victim did not sustain physical injuries.

 

Shortly after 10 p.m., officers located and arrested a suspect in the 200 block of King Street. The 16-year-old, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon.

 

One suspect remains outstanding.  He is described as a 15 to 18-year-old white male.  At the time of the incident, he wore a white hooded sweater with “New York” printed across it.

 

Investigators urge residents and business owners within the area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage for possible evidence, specifically between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call the Windsor Police Service – Amherstburg Detachment Criminal Investigation Division at 519-736-8559 ext. 230.
