Motorist charged with impaired driving, fleeing collision
The Windsor Police Service has charged a 27-year-old man with impaired and dangerous driving following an early-morning collision.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on November 1, 2025, officers observed a pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed westbound on Riverside Drive East near Lauzon Road. Moments later, they came upon a two-vehicle collision further down the road.
Witnesses reported that the same truck had struck a taxi and forced another vehicle off the roadway before fleeing the scene. Officers quickly located the vehicle a short distance away and arrested the driver for failing to remain at the scene.
While speaking with the driver, officers detected a strong odour of alcohol and observed other signs of impairment. He was transported to police headquarters, where he failed a breath test.
No physical injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
Jacob Maxwell Schwab has been charged with:
- Impaired operation of a conveyance
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance
- Failure to remain at the scene of a collision
