UPDATE: Seven further suspects arrested, two sought following weekend incidents
The Windsor Police Service has arrested seven additional suspects and continues to seek two others following two carjackings and a robbery that occurred over the weekend.
Following the October 24 carjacking on University Avenue West (25-113477), three additional suspects have been arrested:
• Memphis Miller, 20, and Brianna Noelle Schwab, 18, were arrested on October 26 at a residence in south Windsor. Both have been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, robbery with a firearm, and use of a firearm in the commission of an offence.
• Ethan Comerford,18, was arrested on October 28 in the city’s west end. He has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, robbery with a firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of an offence, aggravated assault, robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (x2).
These arrests follow the arrest of a 15-year-old male by Chatham-Kent Police Service on October 26.
A fifth suspect remains outstanding in this case. He is described as a white male with a slender build. At the time of the incident, he wore a green sweater with the hood up, beige pants, boots, and a blue bandana around his neck.
Additionally, on October 27, police arrested three suspects in connection with the October 26 robbery in east Windsor (25-113915):
• Damian Van Nieuw Amerongen, 19, was arrested at a residence in Walkerville. He faces charges of robbery with an offensive weapon (x5) and possession of property obtained by crime. • A 17-year-old male was also arrested at a residence in Walkerville. He has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon (x5), possession of property obtained by crime, and failure to comply with a YCJA sentence.• A 16-year-old male was arrested at a residence in Ford City. He has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon (x5) and possession of property obtained by crime.
On October 28, officers arrested a 15-year-old male has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon (x5) and possession of property obtained by crime.
The 15-year-old suspect charged in relation to the two carjackings also faces further charges related to the robbery in east Windsor.
One person remains outstanding in this matter, a 16-year-old is currently wanted on charges of robbery with an offensive weapon (x5), possession of property obtained by crime, failure to comply with YCJA sentence and FTC with release order.
In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of all accused persons under the age of 18 cannot be released.
