UPDATE: One arrested, four still wanted after carjackings, robbery

The Windsor Police Service has arrested one suspect and continues to search for four others following two violent carjackings and an armed robbery that occurred over the weekend.

At approximately 11 p.m. on October 25, 2025, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 1300 block of Division Road (25-113871). Officers learned that a man was forcibly removed from his vehicle and physically assaulted. The suspects stole the victim’s wallet, identification, bank cards, and cellphone before fleeing the scene in his 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after stealing the Chevrolet Traverse, the suspects allegedly robbed a group of teenagers at gunpoint in the area of Magnolia Avenue and Harrogate Street (25-113915). The suspects reportedly exited their vehicle, brandished a firearm and knife, and demanded the victims' phones. One victim was pushed to the ground and struck several times.

At the Division Road scene, officers recovered a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta that had been stolen the previous night during another carjacking in the 1700 block of University Avenue West (25-113477). In that earlier incident, a victim was approached by five suspects, one of whom pointed what appeared to be a firearm and demanded his belongings before leaving in his vehicle.

In the early morning hours of October 26, the Chatham-Kent Police Service located the stolen Chevrolet Traverse after it was involved in a collision in Chatham. A 15-year-old male was found inside the vehicle and arrested for possession of stolen property.

Through investigation, the Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit identified the youth as one of the individuals involved in the two carjackings. The suspect, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces the following charges:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Robbery
  • Pointing a firearm

  • Aggravated assault
  • Using a firearm during the commission of an offence
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Theft of a motor vehicle

The remaining four suspects remain outstanding. Investigators believe the two incidents are linked and are actively working to identify and locate the others involved.
