Suspect arrested for armed robbery
The Windsor Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with an armed robbery.
Shortly after 4 p.m. on October 16, 2025, officers responded to a report of a robbery with a firearm at a gas station in the 90 block of Erie Street East. Through investigation, officers learned that a male suspect had pumped fuel into his vehicle and then began to drive away without paying.
An employee ran after the vehicle and opened the driver’s side door. The suspect then grabbed a handgun from the passenger seat, pointed it at the employee, and threatened to shoot. He also pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the employee before speeding away.
No physical injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit identified the suspect as Andrew Lembke, 41. The following day, on October 17, members of the Emergency Services Unit located and arrested Lembke in a parking lot in the 2400 block of McDougall Street.
Lembke has been charged with:
- Robbery with an offensive weapon
- Assault with a weapon
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm
- Uttering threats (x2)
