Suspect sought after arson at east-end business
The Windsor Police Service is seeking a suspect following an arson at a commercial building in the city’s east end.
Shortly before 10 a.m. on October 13, 2025, officers responded to a report of an active structure fire in the 2900 block of Tecumseh Road East. Windsor Fire and Rescue Services also attended and extinguished the blaze.
While no injuries were reported, the fire caused approximately $175,000 in damage to the building and neighbouring businesses.
Investigators located a fire accelerant at the scene, leading them to treat the incident as suspicious. The Windsor Police Arson Unit has since taken over the investigation.
As part of their ongoing work, investigators have since identified a suspect. He is described as a middle-aged male with a large build and slightly above-average height. At the time of the incident, he wore dark clothing, including a jacket, pants, and running shoes.
Residents and business owners in the immediate area are urged to review their surveillance or dashcam footage, specifically between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., for video evidence that may assist with the investigation.
