Suspect sought in violent robbery targeting senior

Robbery suspect 2

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in a bail scam and violent robbery in Forest Glade.

On October 2, 2025, the suspect attended the home of an elderly resident in the 10000 block of Palms Crescent, claiming that the senior’s relative had been jailed and urgently needed bail money. Under these false pretences, he convinced the victim to hand over $8,500 in cash.

The suspect returned to the victim’s home on October 3, demanding additional money. When the victim refused, the suspect forced his way inside and physically assaulted the senior before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 18 to 25 years old, with a thin build, and long brown hair. At the time of the incident, he wore a dark sweater over a white dress shirt and dark pants. He may have been wearing a high school uniform.

If you recognize this suspect or have any information, please contact the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830. You can also contact Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com.

Bail Scam Awareness

This type of scam often targets seniors and plays on fear and urgency. Scammers may claim:

• A family member has been arrested and needs bail money.

• Immediate payment is required to prevent jail time or legal consequences.

Police do not operate this way. These tips can help keep you safe:

• If you receive a phone call with an urgent request for bail money, hang up immediately.

• Verify with a trusted family member or contact police directly.

• Never send cash or give personal information to unknown callers.

Please share this warning with loved ones, especially elderly family members, to help keep our community safe.
