Zekelman Safety Village

The Zekelman Safety Village is a not-for-profit community organization that is the recognized leader in providing safety and injury-prevention education programs to residents of Windsor-Essex. Annually, the Zekelman Safety Village provides onsite safety education programs to as many as 10,000 elementary school children.

Since 2003, the Windsor Police Service has provided continued support to the Zekelman Safety Village. A uniformed Windsor Police Service officer from the Community Services Branch supports the Crime Prevention Program through Neighbourhood Watch Windsor and delivers onsite safety education programs.

In addition, the Zekelman Safety Village partners with the Windsor Police Service to host a monthly car seat inspection clinic, providing families with an opportunity to have their child’s car seat professionally inspected and receive guidance on proper installation and passenger safety.
