Camp Brombal
Camp Brombal is a free, four-day summer camp for Grade 6 students in the V.I.P. (Values, Influences and Peers) program who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend summer camp.
Each July, approximately 40 students take part in this unique experience where they make new friends and connect with Windsor Police officers in a positive way. Since 2002, hundreds of campers have made unforgettable memories at Camp Brombal.
Camp Experience
Campers spend four days and three nights alongside Windsor Police officers at Gesstwood Camp & Education Centre in Essex. Officers and volunteers lead structured activities that build confidence, promote teamwork, and foster personal growth. Activities include go-karting, ropes courses, and kayaking.

About the Name
Camp Brombal is named in honour of Constable Nereo Brombal, a Windsor Police Officer who was unjustly dismissed in June 1940 on account of his Italian heritage. Constable Brombal’s family received a formal apology from the City of Windsor in 1990.
