Record Suspensions (Pardons)

The Information Services Unit can complete local record checks for record suspension (pardon) applicants.

Requesting a Record Check
In-Person
Pardon applicants can request a record check in-person during business hours. (Please refer to the locations and hours of operation on the main Information Services page.)
Applicants must provide two approved forms of ID and pay the application fee by cash, debit, or Visa / Mastercard.
Online
Pardon applicants can submit online requests 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Follow the link below to submit your request.
Pardon applicants can submit record check requests through mail. Application forms are available on the federal record suspension webpage.
A certified cheque or money order, payable to the City of Windsor, must accompany the request. (See the Applicable Fees section below.)
Requests are not accepted via fax, as payment must accompany the request.
Applicable Fees
A standard fee applies for record suspension local record requests (per the official cost recovery fee schedule). Please note: a new cost recovery fee schedule will take effect on January 1, 2026.
Payment for in-person requests can be made via cash, debit, or Visa / Mastercard.
Payment for online requests can be made via Visa / Mastercard.
Mailed requests must include a certified cheque or money order payable to the City of Windsor.
